Subject: Dehorning with a heated steel pipe?

Madison Co. Virginia

I've got a couple of heifers that are too large for my electric dehorner. Can I accomplish the same thing using a piece of hot steel pipe? Has anyone done this? How hot does the pipe need to be, and is it easy to get it too hot?
