Subject: Case IH 496 (7.5") vs IH 490 (9")

SE Michigan
Need to replace my 490 25' - 9" disk. Mainly use in the spring but occasionally in the fall to incorporate residue / clean up ruts in bean stubble (No Tilled in the spring in corn stalks). Would I be happy with a 496 spaced at 7.5"? (looking at 25-30' range) Might also be used on fall corn residue in some areas to even things out for no-till beans in the spring. Blades on the 490 are shot as well as needing other things, seems like 9" disks are allot harder to find.

Note: any fall tillage will usually be tilled with a field cultivator / rolling harrow pass again in the spring before corn planting. 100% no-till corn is not an option "here", so please don't start that discussion.
