It was a small young one. Went out to the hayfield I just baled looking for woodchucks. Saw one but had a hard time ranging it. How do you range a woodchuck at 700 yards in the middle of a hay field so ranged a tree in the fence row that looked the same distance. First shots missed and it ran back half way to it hole and stopped. Shot again and it went down its hole from the dust figured low and to the right so changed the distance up 5 clicks then figured it was calm but still a 4 mph wind and that was enough for 12 inches 7 clicks to the left. Came out again and got him that time. Figured 740 yards. Have one spotted at 850 yards but haven’t got a shot yet. Longest last year that I got one was 800 yards |
