Have about 80 ac of Wheat that I was hoping to roll as dry hay about 2 weeks ago.  8 in of rain prevented me from doing that.  

Now that its in dough stage, the awns while not extremely hard, they arent as soft as they were 2 weeks ago.  I need to get the wheat off so I can get my next forage in --- question is, can I tub grind this hay this fall and have pretty good success at tearing up those awns?  Don't want them to impact the mouth of calves and cows?   I'll feed it as ground hay with silage in TMR.
