Subject: wiring glitch on sprayer

CNY
Got my older Hardi pull type sprayer out to find the 7 wire cable to the valves torn in half. Spliced color to color. Now all the switches are on when they should be off, off when they should be on. Pressure control on same cable also works opposite of normal. Otherwise normal operation. What would cause this and will something eventually get screwed up using it like this? Using on same tractor as always, Deere 6430. May not get back here soon, got chores etc to do.TIA.
