Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I filled Form 2290 for my great nephew prior to the shutdown and mailed it in. His truck meets the requirements to be tax exempt. This truck is new to him. He has not received the stamped form back from the government. Now that offices are again open, he will need to get new tabs for the truck and will need the stamped form.
I know many here has suggested just paying for the service and being done with it. I guess I could do that for him but one of the paid sites has a banner saying the Government is back up again and processing them.
I doubt if there would be any penalty for filing with one of the paid services other than their usual cost which I may have to do for him. If the forms are trickling back maybe we just need to wait a bit longer. |
Anybody got a stamped 2290 back from the Feds lately
