Subject: What happens when double disks wear out?

Nunn CO
Hello all,
We have a JD 730 that seeds with a row of double disks. What happens as these start to wear out? I'm guessing it's not as simple as just dropping your depth stops and getting more life out of them? I did notice that our oats are poorer in the tire tracks? Related or just a wet conditions problem? Also, do you replace the bearing when you replace the disks of just reuse them? Never had a bearing fail yet but I assume thats a matter of time...
Thanks
