SW Wisconsin | As of right now May class III futures are sitting at $12.20, and June at $17.52. I've never actually filled my bulk tank, but the chart goes up to 6555, and I'm shipping about 4500 in two days, pickups on odd days in May. If I accidentally dropped a tree over my driveway next Sunday morning, so the truck had to come back Monday, and if I got exactly current futures prices for the milk, I could dump 200 lbs of milk that wouldn't fit in the tank and be $200 ahead by getting my milk on the truck in June instead of May. | |
