ECWI | This Buckeye has been in the neighborhood for 50 years. As a kid in the 70's an old timer named Clarence owned this and my dad hired him several times. No GPS back then. One guy would run the transit, second guy would pound in height posts along the route. Then we would tile for 200 feet, take a coffee break. Then go 200 feet and take a coffee break. Slow but sure.
As an 8 year old kid feeding cement tiles down the shoot, then covering by hand so no rocks fell in and broke tiles..
Was later bought by a neighbor who tiled through the 80's. Dad bought it in the 90's. We never had guidance of any kind either, but only did short 300' laterals off existing mains over the years.
Not sure what motor originally came with, but has had a gas Continental inline 6 from a Massey Harris tractor. Still starts right off and runs strong.
Last week we loaded it for the last time and took it to local consignment sale. Good memories but alot of hard work.
