Subject: No till into alfalfa/grass

Central ND
There's some land that has currently been in long term alfalfa/grass for baling and feeding cows.

My question is does anybody have any experience with no tilling a crop into it the first year and then tearing it up or am I better off tearing it all up first?

My thoughts were to maybe no till sunflowers into it as a sunflower will really mellow/open up some ground and then the next spring till it all up. I have the option of sunflowers, soybeans, or spring wheat.

Looking for any experiences with any crop and how things worked out going this way.

Just exploring ideas as it will be alfalfa for a couple years yet.
