Subject: Clover/Millet???

southwest minnesota
would a clover/pearl millet mixture as a cover crop dry enough after Sep 1 to bale as dry hay?

We have about 25-30 acres of REALLY wet ground that we are gonna PP (still some standing water in the draws). We plan to run tile in this area (we have our own tile plow) and then hopefully put a cover crop on it. Its to far from home to chop forage so id like to bale it as dry hay if possible for our cows. We inline wrapped some rye bales late this spring so we wouldnt be opposed to that option either but we dont have much experience with baleage so i dont want to get to carried away the first year with it.

also, a neighbor is gonna PP a qtr section less than a mile from our place. I havent checked into whether sorgum would count as a cover crop but if it does, would it be worth planting it this late to chop as silage? We havent asked him what his PP intentions are yet but it hasnt been touched so im assuming thats his plan.
