Zabcikville, TX | Has got me confused. I've never seen this before. Now, I don't know the technical terms for the part of the tassel, so bear with me. Corn was planted March 26/27. Late for our area. Then it rained, and rained a lot more. Anyway, this corn is at full tassel (fully emerged), but has a very small, 2"-3" "trunk" and only 2, 2" "limbs" on it. It's late corn, so doesn't look great to begin with. But, what's up with the (guessing) half-sized tassel. Sorry, no pics. Can somebody (ANYBODY) decipher what I've said and tell me what the problem is? Same fertility, same pre's and post. Just wetter ground, planted late. Doesn't seem to be variety specific. I've seen pollination issues, but to not make a full tassel is new to me. | |
