NE Nebraska | why doesn't the government either update the true base acres of what people are actually planting or better yet, do away with them? I thought I had read somewhere that it had to do with the wto rules or something to that effect but I can't recall exactly why. Time to get with the times and get updated. Told local congressman that also. He looked confused so I explained the program to him. It was obvious he didn't have a clue, but surely someone higher up does. Last year I got a $42 oat base acre payment. I haven't planted oats for a mature crop in my life, (part of the farms previous base acres). Anybody have any answers or ideas? | |
