Subject: Spot Welding Starter Ring Gear On Flywheel?

Pulaski, TN
I have a New Holland TS 115A tractor that the ring gear is slipping on the flywheel. Tractor starts fine when it is cold but after warm up, the ring gear slips. The dealer is covered up right now and its gonna be a while before he can get to my tractor. We've been starting the tractor in the morning and letting it run all day or pulling it off. Very unhandy!! What does AgTalk say about spot welding the ring gear to the flywheel? I'm buying a new flywheel so I'm not worried about running the old one ( can't ruin a rotten egg). My concerns are: will the starter Bendix engage, will the balance of the motor be compromised. This engine is similar to the 5.9 Cummins. Thanks!!
