Looks like the AWOS stations take temperature readings between 3' and 9' above the ground. I suppose the wheat canopy will be a hair warmer? I'd say it'll be a squeaker but probably not terrible damage? Maybe none? Colby reporting -1C and Atwood reporting -2C. McCook -1C. St. Francis -3C. Wundermap shows higher temps than this? When I go out in my yard there is the lightest of frosts on the leaves of grass and weeds. Almost hard to tell that it's not dew. But it's 4:30 AM so that's likely to get a little more firm before the temp starts coming up? Be interesting to see how the wheat does. I honestly haven't even looked at mine in a few weeks other than driving by it so I don't even know what growth stage it is. |
