Lancaster, OH | With all the talk, it's important to insure we discuss specific items. Biologicals include:
-Bacteria--there are many. You have rhizobial inoculants which are very specific for certain crops. They are invaluable in one crop and useless in another. There are bacteria that stimulate plant responses such as increased growth, health, etc. There are bacteria that release nutrients. Lots of types of bacteria.
-Plant hormones such as indole acetic or buteric acid, gibberellic acids, etc.
-Gene upregulating products
-Nutrient use stimulating products.
My point is that asking about "biologicals" is too broad a question. Anything that influences or affects biological activity is being called a biological but lumping them together is really like saying tractor to cover all farm machinery. | |
