Eastern Shore of MD | I just stumbled across this new requirement the other day.
Starting this year - only certified applicators can apply and you are required to take a training once every three years.
Training says 17 people have died since 2000, mostly from ingestion of paraquat when it was put in used drink containers and then someone drank out of it.
I respect the stuff and only will use in bulk (not 2.5's cause I do not want to rinse them) but it is a necessary rotational burn down option for us and also use it in certain fert mixes that will tie up glyphosate.
Anybody done the training? I did it in about 30 min the other night.
