Central PA | What causes the problems in these aerials? I farm the ground on the right, although not when the photo was taken. The landlord won't let me do any tile work. Looking to rent the ground on the left, if the landlord would work with me on tile. Ground is very wet in the spring. But if we get dry in the summer it will dry up. There is a distinct hardpan in the ground I farm, not sure about the other. Looks like most of the crop is dead in the one photo, but still alive over the lines. Should more lines have been put in at a closer spacing? Are the lines silted shut? Is a hardpan preventing water from even getting to the tile? It's heavier, stickier ground than most of what I'm familiar with around here. The existing lines on the ground where I farm flow some, but not as much as I think they should even when the surface is very wet.
