SE MN | We run a 8335r Deere with ILS and duals up front. Use it on our planter and dump cart. For one side of the rear axle, on the very inside, there’s a 625 kg (1378 lb) weight. Then, between the duals, there’s two 205 kg (452 lb) weights. Then on the outside, there’s another 205 kg weight and a 75 (165 lb) weight. So the total added weight for the entire rear end of the tractor is about 5,800 lbs.
This seems like overkill for a planter but I’m sure it’s nice for a large cart. Our current planter is a 1770 16 row ccs Deere, hoping to go to a 24 row within a couple years. No saddle tanks. Cart is a 1082 Brent, single axle with floaters. We are all conventional till.
My question is, what would be a happy medium for having the proper amount of weight for both of these implements? Would like to have it set up once and not have to pull them on and off each year. Thanks a lot for any info!
