E Central NE | I’ve been doing no-till corn on corn on a portion of my irrigated acres for quite a few years with good success, but have struggled with the soil staying wet under the residue and causing problems. I have heavy soil with rolling hills and would like to try fall strip till this year. I know there are a lot of different companies making strip till rigs, so I’m wondering which ones handle high residue the best and can build a tall berm, so hopefully erosion isn’t an issue in the hills. I am thinking I would like a shank/knife style machine so I can run NH3 and if this works, would also like to run dry fertilizer in the future. I would appreciate any input. TIA. | |
