Subject: Wheat prevented plantings going to... soybeans..??

At the classic.. just sat through Bryce Anderson's weather outlook.. and once again.. IF we can get it in.. ?? 2019 should be a good to above trend yield outlook.. ( for the 5th..6th..7th year in a row..?? )

However, there "Could" be planting delays.. are we gonna get those increased corn acres in?

My response to the... "what's gonna happen to the 500,000 ( and I still think we have another 200,000 to be recognized..) acres that didnt get planted to hrw wheat this past fall..??

Well remember that this is mostly in the central corridor.. so its potential double cropped acreage.. one reason it didnt get planted to wheat was there was still a soybean crop to be harvested.. etc..

So the practical effect is that we lost the potential to double crop.. if you can get it in? Full season soybeans vs dc beans.. so yes more yield.. possibly.

But my main point is that my neighbor.. parted out his low areas.. mudholes.. etc.. 20 acres or 20% rule..?? And came up with 800 acres of prevented plantings.. were at 711..

And this is what it looks like..

In some cases.. we still have an unharvested crop.. in water.. in the middle of a "wheat" field.. I could post pics like this all day..

Yup.. were gonna put the combine on our air boat.. go finish the 2018 harvest.. till it.. and plant er to soybeans..

All 700,000 acres of it..

Uh huh.
