Subject: Finding the fine line

Central ND
Trying to find that line where cattle buyers consider cattle green but still gaining good at home. Backgrounding bought steers that came in at 475, started them off slow now up to 600 pounds. Currently getting fed 8 pounds of dry hay mixture of grass, alfalfa, and oats. 15 pounds corn silage that was lacking good corn this year and 4 pounds rolled corn. Going to sell at around 725 does it pay to up the corn most years I don’t know if I would get paid much for those extra pounds. Was looking for some real life experience not a computer output from my nutritionist
