Subject: Kongskilde Grain Vac Wear

Our Kongskilde 1000 grain vac is about 10 years old or so has seen about 40K bushels per year. We have got two wear holes starting on the housing that the fan runs inside of (by housing I mean the big round piece on the passengers side of the machine that has five or so bands bolted together making it into a tube) , both are pointed straight up and one is closer to the inlet side and the other is closer to the front. Is this normal wear on a grain vac? Seems like there should only be air moving in this part of the machine how could it wear that fast? I have also heard that when rebuilding those fans it takes special tools to get everything set right, can a guy fix those by himself or is it best left to a dealer?
