Subject: You would think that.....

You would think that even if the government isn't recording & reporting exports sales, futures traders or somebody close to the situation would spread some rumors, if for no other reason but move the market a bit. Or you'd think that Bloomberg or Reuters would report that the Chinese had purchased grain based on their foreign reporters'contacts. Something.
I mean, it was all the rage in the media a couple of weeks ago as to whether the Chinese purchased or not. There were plenty to rumors in circulation then.
But for the past two weeks, not even any rumors have been circulated. It seems a little strange, how quiet news of the grain trade has been.
Is it possible that without government reporting the grain brokers can really keep such a tight lid on market news? Was that the norm back in the days before mandatory reporting. Was that why Russia was able to pull off the great grain heist in the 1970's?
As it is, we'll have at least another week of shutdown and then it will take another week before a report comes out. Could we effectively have a whole month with any export sales reports?
