Subject: Why is Dicamba now a no-no on corn pre/early post?

NC South Dakota
I have a few neighbors that use it up to 4" corn. With all the complaining on agtalk about stinger hurting corn why not just use dicamba early?
Coop says it isn't safe, use widematch instead. Is dicamba relatively safe preemerge(chasing the planter) at low rates?
Just want to spike my mesotrione/atrazine with some extra kick IF there is anything green when I pull into the field.
Retired neighbor always used 8? oz of dicamba off the back of the planter.
Thanks
