Nebraska | I few years back I bought an old 3 wheel terragator with a spreader basically for salvage value.. I stripped it down and welded up the frame and made it into a pull-type spreader with floater wheels. The drive tires themselves were pretty much bald, but who cares if its pull-type.
But I still have the steer tire. I was going to keep it for a spare floater tire just in case anything ever happened to one of the other tires on my spreader....but I'm rethinking that. I can probably pick up another used bald floater tire down the road someday if I need it.
Do these old floater tires come apart? I really see no cracks at all in my bald tires. Should l keep the steer tire for a spare, or sell it? The steer tire is a decent tire, probably 65% tread. IDK maybe worth $1500-2000? It still is mounted to rim steering rim with axles and bearings, a guy in need of a steer tire could just bolt it on. | |
