Texas | This summer the local garden center had Hardy Hibiscus plants deeply discounted. They had failed to bloom and were evidently not very good sellers. I love Tropical Hibiscus, but decided to purchase one of the Hardy Hibiscus when I learned that they would survive the winter outside. Also, for less than $2. it was a very good buy.
I selected the perfect spot for it, and with lots of water it outgrew the weeds even in 100F weather. I was thrilled with it and hopeful that it would bloom next year.
We recently had a cold snap here in Texas, and my Hardy Hibiscus is not looking very hardy. :( Now, I know that I got my $2. of value out of it, but.
My poor Hardy Hibiscus looks and sounds freeze dried. So, is there any hope for it, or is it time to dig it up and plant something hardier?
