ND | I'm looking for a different air drill and these Bourgault air drills have my attention. We've had a Concord for over 20 years and I know nothing about the Bourgault. The sales guy said you can put NH3 and dry fertilizer through the MRB and just the seed through the boot. I think this would be perfect for keeping fertilizer out of the seed trench while seeding soybeans. It has a 6450 cart that has in cab rate adjustments, but he was unsure about variable rating off a map with it. The ability to do this is a deal breaker so I was hoping someone would be able to tell me if their metering system worked well for this. How level does this drill leave the ground after seeding? I band my fertilizer for my corn crop with the drill so I want a fairly level seed bed to plant in to. The Concord wasn't perfect, but we were using disk levelers and I haven't seen a single Bourgault set up that way.
Is there anything else to look at or consider when I go look at the drill? | |
