NE Indiana | Wanting to start using a supplement pellet with rumensin mixed with cracked corn for feeding out beef to gain feed efficiency. The current supplement pellet does not have rumensin in it. Cattle are around 700lbs right now.
Would the best thing to do be to mix a blend of the plain pellet with a bit of pellets containing rumensin, then slowly increase the rumensin pellet and decrease the plain pellet over a few weeks or so? I'm guessing it would be too drastic of a change to do a "hard" switch to the pellet containing rumensin? They are on full feed with free choice hay. |

NE kansas | Can you get Purina? I use the steak maker pellets for the Rumensin carrier. I think it’s only 25 lbs per ton depending on the level you want and you can still use a cheaper protein source |
