Subject: Pro700 Guidance problems

Salina, Kansas
Have a pro700 display with a 372 running centerpoint on an stx335 tractor. Has worked great for 4 years but started giving a few problems this spring and now the last few days drilling wheat it has been very troublesome. At times it runs great but at others it has trouble keeping up with the task it seems.

It has trouble locking on the the swath and it appears like the problem is that is hasn't nailed the swath down yet. You can make the turn settle down about where you need to be and the off swath distance will be jumping all over the place if you try to engage and it happens to be about right, say within 4 inches, it very likely will immediately shift to about 20 inches and take off to the side. Have been able to get by by hand driving for about 15 seconds or so and watching for the off swath distance to settle down from the 20 inch swings to about 2 inch swings and it will engage and slowly bring itself online but it will keep doing little sudden adjustment all the way across the field. For some reason it is usually worse on one end but there is no pattern to tell which end it will be when changing fields. Should add that it isn't me driving that causes the offline distance to jump. I have turned the corner and come to a stop and watched the offline number jump around up to 25 inches for about 15 seconds or so until it started to settle down

The fault codes that occasionally show are the steering sensor and the wiring to steering valve but not all the time. Gut feeling is that this are just symptoms and not the problem. It appears that it just is not keeping up with the task of computing the swath when you watch the numbers.

Just looking for some advise and knowledge if anyone has and idea of what is happening. Sometimes it works absolutely great but the times it doesn't are becoming more frequent.
