Subject: 706C Corn Head Trade Up Or Repair 606C?

Bunker Hill, IL
I ‘ve got a 2009 model year 606C head with fluted rolls and the old style stalk roll shafts, and we’ve had a load of trouble with them getting loose and tearing up the shafts. We’ve changed out the whole lot one by one now, even after the PIP to upgrade was done and rolls all replaced with new, twice when the head was 1 and 3 years old. I ‘m trying to decide whether to rebuild with some new shafts and all new Calmer stalk rolls, or to trade for a new 706C. Any thoughts by anyone with the Calmer rolls or from someone with the updated version, the 706C? I believe they’ve been making the 706C for 2 years now.
