| My 4020 diesel surges quiet a bit when baling with my new holland 326 at first I thought something was wrong with tractor but I can hook it up to a 8 ft shredder and it runs like a champ , everything in the baler is loose free meaning I can turn it by hand and it doesn’t bind up. I can run the same baler on my farmall 656 diesel and it doesn’t do near as much surging as the 4020 does idk what the problem is or what it could be it just sounds like it coming from the exhaust like the engine is cutting out when baling, now some things to take into consideration the windrows were on the moderate heavy side , tractor was reved up and going in about 1-3 gear depending on the ground speed. If going into faster gear it would sound worse.
Have other people had Simular problems, it’s just weird how a 95 hp tractor can sound like it’s about to die and a 63 hp tractor can run it like a champ | |
