Subject: Dominant traits

Columbia City, Indiana
Everybody knows that in cattle, black hide and white face are two dominant characteristics. I use Angus bulls on Hereford cows, and I've found that different bulls can have an effect on this. The first bull I used sired classic black baldies, basically looked exactly like a purebred hereford, only black wherever a hereford is red. The next bull sired calves that have quite a bit of black on their faces, but white around the edges. I'm going to keep two of these heifers, and I'm thinking of having them AI'ed back to a Hereford. The resulting calf would be 1/4 Angus and 3/4 Hereford. I'm just wondering if anybody has any idea what these calves might look like, or will it totally depend on the Hereford bull's characteristics?
