Subject: Ergot in wheat

just a tish NE of central ND
Our area has been haveing ergot showing up in spring wheat. Some elevators now will reject loads with over one half of one percent.
Besides discounts, I wonder where this will all lead to and what will high ergot loads be used for?Can it be used for livestock feed?

AND THEN...... how do we limit ourselves to getting it again in years to follow?
