East central Iowa | My wife likes to watch Property Brothers and Love it Or List It. EVERY episode has something wrong with the house after they start. The wiring is bad, the plumbing is bad, there's termites, there's asbestos. The foundation is cracked or bad, the roof leaks and the list goes on. Sometimes there's even a room that the city says is illegal because there's no permit or they can't paint the house a different color because of some city rule.
Why don't they know ANY of these things before they buy?
And further, if the "host" told them they could do thus and such for $100,000 and now they can't, isn't that some sort of fraud? Isn't there massive incompetence on the part of the buyer and the realtor or person promising to do the work for X amount. More on the realtor/contractor than the buyer I'd believe as they are the ones making all the promises.
