We are doing some maintenance (new injectors and adjusting valve clearance) on the 8.3 L in our 2388 combine and were wondering how long the turbo's tend to run without issue. We currently have about 5,000 hours on this motor and the turbo is the original. The bearings in the turbo seem within tolerance... there is minimal axial movement, no contact between the turbine and the housing, and everything spins nice and smooth. Brother thought he might have noticed a little drop in boost pressure last year, but that is pretty much it. Thoughts and experiences are greatly welcomed!
