MN | What has basis been doing around the corn belt? Firming up here much more than I would have anticipated for corn. Locked in $-.28 back in early April under the July which at the time was .08 better than the bid, thought I did a pretty good job, now first half of July delivery is $-.28 and last half is $-.26. Can't get anything done as plants hours are cut back to 2pm close and today I had my second load in at 8:30 and they were cut off for the day. Dumping 40-42 trucks an hour. Obviously they aren't short on corn, so why are the bidding up? Last 2 years at this time and location basis was hanging $-.60 - $-.65. Does ADM know something that we don't? You would think with the huge crop last year they basis would be at least what it was last year...... | |
