Northeast Colorado | We're pretty out of the loop and behind on our Precision stuff.
We currently have a 2600 + Starfire itc. For everything so far we've been doing SF1 Autotrac and everything has been glorious.
We're trying to get upgraded to RTK, doing our own strip tilling this year and would like to shell out the least amount of shekels as possible.
My understanding is I can buy
1) A used Starfire 3000 that has the right RTK radio for my area, and has an RTK unlock on it
2) A local RTK subscription
When we talk with our local 'expert' at Mother Deere they want to sell us
1) a Greenstar 2630
2) A Starfire 6000
3) RTK unlock
4) Autotrac Unlock
5) Gobs of cables and ****
For what they want I could get an Ag Leader system for a few grand cheaper after trading in my old equipment, and include swath control and other magic we have yet to consider.
If I can get away with my understanding of getting a new globe and paying the subscription, I can save a bunch of money.
Does my screen need an unlock too? My local 'expert' is not forthcoming since they want to sell me stuff.
