Heading off tomorrow for the Sydney royal steer competition. I have 3 going this year including the one on the right in the picture. The other two steers in the picture are by other Murray Grey breeders. Always interesting to see how they compare to some of the best, hopefully they are good enough to be competitive. Live judging is Friday, carcase results are back Saturday week. That steer has made an appearance on AgTalk before, he was named beefcake by 5 Head. I think he is about a month short of being the perfect steer, but they wouldn't postpone the competition for me. He weighed 453kg (999 pounds) today.
