N FLA | 2 weeks down at the new job. Been a pressure cooker at times and a breeze at other times. My wife said yesterday except for she and my daughter this is the best thing that's ever happened to me. So she must think it's working out. I'm sure it will have ups and downs. I'm still not sure what I do there. But "right hand man" is starting to feel like the appropriate title.
Checked on cattle yesterday. So far so good. I only have 60 acres of pasture so will have to start making some cuts soon. Oats are playing out. I have a day work cowboy coming to help me on Saturday. Or more apprriately, for me to help him.
Been second guessing the old cows left to calve. But they should have perfect timing for raising a last calf on green grass.
EDIT: if anyobody wants to come run a silage chopper for 30 days starting June 25th. Let me know. Looks like I do human resources also.
