Subject: Insulating a floor(Home machinery?)

We live in an older home on a crawl space. Floors are always cold. I have procrastinated putting insulation in the floor on account of Vermin, but, the wife has cold feet. I have some of the foil/bubble/bubble/foil stuff. I have been thinking of stapling this to the underside of the joist. My thought is that this might provide runway for rodents and the like, but, at least it doesn't provide all the nesting opportunities of fiberglass bat. I guess I also wonder if it is really worth doing.

Any opinions?
