Central South Dakota | Will the top shaft for the feeder house come out with the front duals still on the combine or do one set of tires need to be removed? I need to flip sprockets on the feeder chain. If the tires have to be removed, I was wondering if it would be easier to weld up a frame so I could use the 3pt of a tractor to hook up to the feeder house and drive away from the combine? Then I could stand upright and work on everything or would this idea not work?
It's one job I've never had to do yet because we either traded and it had been done, or the last time it was due to be done, we had a foreign object that got ingested and Deere changed the sprockets out when the feeder house was off on our last machine. | |
