Ottawa Canada | Lots of talk about selling the carry to July. While I think that was a great idea last spring when CZ17 was over $4.00 then rolling to July for another 20-25 cents but to short it today at $3.71? Do you really want to be short July at $3.71???
Now you are sitting on the corn and lots of margin money needed if we rally. If basis doesn't improve, no money for bins, interest, elec.
It could turn out that $3.71 is the best we see for a long time, but I feel this "selling the carry" isn't as simple as some posters would lead us to believe. | |
