Subject: Traeger Grill Experts ?

Hastings, Florida

Thinking about preparing one of our birds on my Traeger. Their recipes say smoke for about 3 hours, then finish it off at a higher temp for another 4. Does that sound right ? What flavor pellets ?  The best way to prepare Tom for the grill ?
I have fried, microwaved, cooked in 55 gallon barrel, cooked in the ground, brined, splatchcocked, cooked in oven, done the turkey just about any way you can think of. I even read of cooking it in the dish-washer. Bundle it up real good in tin foil, use the hot water wash cycle to heat it for several hours, then finish it in oven. I do not think I would try that.
