Subject: 7140 boxcar drivetrain dragging issue????

Owensville, MO
My 7140 was leaking a little oil out of the top of the F-N-R valve on the side of transmission just behind the shift accumulators so I replaced the seal on top of that spool. I took measurements and counted the threads showing so that I could get the F-N-R cable reattached in the same position that it was. today I backed it out of the shop to clean it up some and noticed that when you push in the clutch it stops right a way like something is dragging. Almost like a brake dragging. What could I have done with that valve/cable that would have caused this? What could be going on inside there to cause it to act like this or do I simply have a brake dragging all of a sudden and it's not related to the transmission? It's is MFWD and That was off but I tried it both ways just to be sure. Any ideas?

Thanks

Joe
