Subject: Can I Plant Popcorn with John Deere 7000?

NE Ohio
I'm heavily considering planting an acre or two of popcorn for the family next spring. We always plant a few acres of sweet corn and thought it would be fun to try some popcorn. Will my 7000 do the job? Popcorn seeds are awful small and I'm wondering how the finger pick ups will do. I have the original Deere soybean meters as a last resort.
