Le Sueur VIA St.Thomas | Hello,
I just picked up a nice tandem trailer. wood floor is good. New tires, brakes, lights and wiring all in the last 2 years. It's 18 years old, so the frames getting rusty and the fenders are pretty beat up. Not planning a total restoration but it may be nice to spruce it up. Cutting off and welding on new fenders seems pretty straight forward. Any ideas/tricks/tips? Maybe aluminum fenders that bolt on?
How about a paint job that looks good from the road? Does POR-15 work or is there something better that is just as easy? Thinking of grinding/wiring brushing the exposed areas to get it halfway smooth and painting it leaving the rest as is. Yes, I know the right way to do it... Someday if I replace the deck, I could get it sand blasted and painted for real, but until then it is either some paint or no paint.
Here it is... good luck -jim
