Computers are tools, a means to an end. I can hear the geeks gasping for breath. It's been a while since I upgraded my office computer. I'm not sure xP was out yet when I bought it. Probably was brand new. And I have not even attempted to keep up with the latest and greatest hardware. I was happy with my 486DX (we upgraded from the SX). Currently I have a Dell Inspirion 660 with an i3-3240 CPU @ 3.40GHz and 8 GB of RAM. Not that I know what all that means. I do spreadsheets, word processing, and run Quicken. This computer uses isolation security. It is not connected to the internet, does not have wireless capabilities, and is not networked. I have a laptop and a MacBookPro for online etc. So what should I be looking at? I'm guessing W10 will be hard to avoid? My guess is almost anything will cover my needs as long as I get as much RAM as I can afford and look for lots of USB ports |
