Mid-Missouri | We will soon be irrigating soybeans if it doesn't rain. We have been very hot and dry here.
What is a good way to determine the proper timing to begin irrigating? They surprisingly don't appear stressed. They have started blooming for about a week I suppose.
Also, is there any affordable liquid that could be applied through the pivot for a yield increase, aside from the water. I don't really see insecticide or fungicide being beneficial if it runs off (or you don't need it). Something with a fertilizer is intriguing but I don't know enough about them, or if they are just snake oil for soybeans.
Obviously it is hard for you to give a recommendation without being here, but what has worked for you? | |
