Strathcona, mn | I've been planning a new smoker project for about 2 years. I finaly volunteered myself to cook for an upcoming function so I oit a fire to get it finished. I did the maiden voyage of bbq chicken on the 4th and word got out I got it finished. We loaded up 2 quartered hogs weighing in at 289# at 6:55 this morning. I'm curious to how long they'll take on this cooker. Beautiful day in the northland for a pig cook out! Burning cured bur oak. Depending on cuts should be 6-10 more hours to have it all done. I'm trying to find someone local with a large sand blaster so I can get it cleaned up and painted.... Looks don't effect the taste though!
